Break and enter

One way to help protect your home from break and enter is to use the Ottawa Police Service’s FREE home security inspection service. Here’s how it works:

  • a police representative will visit your home and run a safety audit
  • the audit is based on a checklist of home security features
  • you will be provided with a booklet that identifies safety improvements, provides crime prevention tips and tells you about crime prevention initiatives

Find out about getting a home security inspection or access other resources for keeping your home safe on the OPS website.
